The First Annual TAP Las Vegas Duel in the Desert 8-ball tournament took place July 19 and 20, 2008 with 15 three-player teams competing from Arizona, California, Michigan, Kansas and of course, Las Vegas. It was a very exciting weekend of pool at the Las Vegas Cue Club with after parties at Putters at Eastern and the Gin Mill Casino in Henderson! Click here or scroll down to view the results and pics.

1st & 2nd Place
Michigan TAP Wolverines paid and played 2 entries in this tournament. These guys played some awesome pool! Many of their matches went hill/hill, but still, they remained focused. On day 2, luck of the draw put them at opposite ends of the tournament chart in the single elimination tournament. They went from table to table, stretching thin and still played great. In the end both teams won, to take home a total of $3,600!!
3rd & 4th Place were won by two TAP Las Vegas teams. These two teams also played a great many matches to take them to the semi-finals where they went hill/hill and nearly entered into the finals! Each team took home $500!!

Art is the proud captain of this weekly league team and Anzel is a long time member who stood by their fellow teammates to root them on throughout the weekend!
Best of the Rest (2ND chance) was won by Dave Stevens, Catrina and Sam Gallegos for $500! In the end, Sam took the final shot to win it all!

I don’t think I’ve ever attended an event where there were so many compliments about teams and individuals than at this tournament. Thanks to everyone!
A special recognition to Reese Romney for great sportsmanship! He went above and beyond. He was complimented as an individual by multiple players.

A special recognition also goes to the late Jay Pitt's team. Jay and his family passed away in a plane crash and his spirit was with his team. He was a great pool player and friend to all that knew him!
